 The
Shopmobility scheme, based at Sale
Waterside (near the Tatton Road entrance)
provides powered and non-powered
wheelchairs and scooters for anyone with
mobility difficulties, temporary or
permanent. These can be hired on an hourly
basis or for longer periods if required -
the rate for powered scooters/ wheelchairs
is £2.00 per hour or £50.00 per week. On
your first visit you will be asked to fill
out a simple form and provide two forms of
identity, the staff will then help you to
choose the best vehicle for your needs and
how to operate this safely.
For a small charge a shopping escort, to
help people with a visual impairment, can
be booked to push a wheelchair, making
shopping more enjoyable. For more
